In ZBrush, you sculpt 3D models using our digital clay sculpting tools. Using these digital sculpting tools, you can quickly and easily sculpt faces, creatures, tables, chairs or anything their minds can conceive.


So, how do you begin working with 3D models? Well, that depends on the 3D model you are working with.


To import .obj files:


Press Import in the Tool Palette

  1. Choose the .obj file in the navigation window and press Ok.
  2. Left-click on the canvas and drag downwards
  3. Press Edit mode on the shelf or "T" on the keyboard.

To load .ZTL files:

  1. Press Load in the Tool Palette
  2. Choose the .ZTL file in the navigation window and press Ok.
  3. Left-click on the canvas and drag downwards
  4. Press Edit mode on the shelf or "T" on the keyboard.


To create your model from ZSpheres:

  1. Select ZSphere from the Tool Palette's inventory
  2. Left-click on the canvas and drag downwards
  3. Press Edit mode on the shelf or "T" on the keyboard.
  4. Click on the ZSphere to begin adding more ZSpheres.

Your model must be in 3D Edit Mode when sculpting. Learn more about ZBrush's modes here.
