Brush Alphas

Alphas control the shape your brush makes on the surface of your model. They are very important to the sculpting behavior of your brush. For example, the Clay Tubes brush uses ZBrush's default square alpha to give the look and feel of working with a wood tool in clay.

Select An Alpha

1. Press the Large Alpha image to the left of the canvas
2. Select the alpha you want from the pop-up window

Import An Alpha Into ZBrush

1. Open the Alpha Palette
2. Press Import
3. Navigate to the alpha you want to import and press Enter

Exporting An Alpha From ZBrush

1. Open the Alpha Palette
2. Press Export
3. Navigate to where you want to export your file and press Enter.
